HIGHLIGHTS: Relive qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix as Norris takes pole and Perez and Tsunoda crash out

Lando Norris secured the third pole position of his Formula 1 career in qualifying for the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix. But while the McLaren man was on top, it was far from smooth sailing for some of his competitors...
George Russell and Sergio Perez were two of the big scalps to fall in the first segment of qualifying, Russell revealing that he was under-fuelled for his final Q1 run and thus unable to complete a lap good enough to lift him out of the drop zone.
Perez, meanwhile, crashed heavily at Turn 8, emerging from the car unharmed but then forced to watch as his name fell down the classification, eventually ending up P16, for his fourth Q1 exit in six races.
There was drama at the end of the session, meanwhile, as Yuki Tsunoda’s RB went airborne at the exit of Turn 5, the Japanese driver clattering into the barriers and bringing out the second red flag.
Despite the drivers heading out with 2m 15s of Q3 left to go, it was Norris who remained on top, with Oscar Piastri P2 for the first all-McLaren front row in 12 years.
