HIGHLIGHTS: Relive the action as Norris is crowned champion while Verstappen wins in Abu Dhabi

While Max Verstappen masterfully drove to victory in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it wasn’t enough to prevent Lando Norris from becoming the 2025 World Champion as he secured third place behind Oscar Piastri.

The Red Bull driver maintained the lead from pole position on the opening lap while Piastri executed a superb overtake on his McLaren team mate to improve to P2, kicking off a 41-lap stint on hard tyres for the Australian.

Norris’ alternative strategy of choice saw him come out into a DRS train after his first pit stop, but he was able to clear those ahead in quick succession, including an impressive double pass on Lance Stroll and Liam Lawson.

He gradually made his way back into the top three, which was all that was needed for him to win the championship by just two points over Verstappen, who beat Piastri to the chequered flag by 12 seconds.

Further back, Charles Leclerc placed early pressure on Norris but ultimately settled for fourth, with Mercedes’ George Russell finishing fifth, over 22 seconds behind the Ferrari driver. Fernando Alonso was sixth, heading a mighty performance from Esteban Ocon while Lewis Hamilton slotted into eighth and Nico Hulkenberg was ninth. Lance Stroll rounded out the top 10 in the season finale.
