Ferrari continued their impressive start to the Australian Grand Prix as Charles Leclerc set the fastest time of the second practice session ahead of rival Max Verstappen.
Leclerc set the fastest lap of the day with a time of 1m 18.978s around a cloudy Albert Park circuit. The Monagasque racer was 0.245s ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and a further 0.398s ahead of team mate Carlos Sainz – who set the fastest time in FP1.
Alpine’s Fernando Alonso set the fourth-quickest time of the session with a blazing lap that briefly put him at the top of the timesheets. His team mate Esteban Ocon was not far off in P6.
FP2: Leclerc leads Verstappen in second Australian GP practice session
