How to get to and from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Getting to and from the Yas Marina Circuit is simple, but it’s best to plan your route in advance to catch all the action and make the most of your time in Abu Dhabi.
We suggest using public transport where possible, with a number of options to get you right to the heart of the action. Read on for more information.
The Yas Marina Circuit is one of the most technologically-advanced tracks on the planet. With incredible racing under lights and warm December weather, Abu Dhabi is a fantastic destination for all F1 fans.
Make sure you arrive at the circuit in plenty of time, as the prospect of a title-decider at the Formula 1 season finale makes it a very popular event!
Transport
If you are staying at hotels within Yas Island, walking to the track may be preferable. If you decide to stretch your legs, take care walking when the day is at its hottest.
There are free shuttle bus services that connect numerous points of Yas Island and Yas Marina Circuit for Grand Prix ticket holders.
-
The Circuit Circular Shuttle runs every 15 minutes from Thursday to Saturday 9am until 1am, and Sunday 10.30am until 1am. It stops at the South Grandstand, Marina Grandstand, West Grandstand, and the North Grandstand.
-
The Yas Courtesy Shuttle runs every 15 minutes from Thursday to Saturday 9.30am until 1am, and Sunday 11am until 1am. It stops at the Main Grandstand, North Grandstand, and the West Grandstand.
There are also specific shuttles for those attending the Pit Lane Walk on Thursday, those with tickets to the Paddock Club, and those with a Yas Suite.
A number of bus routes depart from the city, about 20km away, to Yas Island. Bus 102 and 190 run regularly to and from the Abu Dhabi Bus Terminal in around an hour. There are also a number of other buses operating from city suburbs to Yas Island.
A popular method for getting around Abu Dhabi, taxi or carshare options can drop fans very close to the entrance gates and the fares are not expensive. Leaving the circuit is simple too, with collection points near Ferrari World and Yas Mall. However, to avoid any waits, stick around after the track action has finished and enjoy the After-Race Concerts!
Getting into the circuit
There are multiple entrances into the circuit, and information about which access gate is best for you can be found on your ticket. The F1 Race Guide App also features a circuit map to help see which entrance is best for you.
Additionally, there will be signposts around the venue to help you find your entry point.
Leaving the circuit
Due to the large number of fans leaving the venue after each day's action, some congestion should be expected. Keep this in mind when using public transport too.
Most shuttle buses operate until at least 1am, so consider this when making plans to leave the circuit after all the action and entertainment has finished!
