‘I want them to be aggressive, taking risks’ – How Fred Vasseur has turned Ferrari back into title contenders


This time last month, Ferrari were a long-shot at best for the constructors’ championship, but victories in Austin and Mexico made it three wins in five – and suddenly, it was the famous Prancing Horse with all the momentum as the battle reached the final furlong.
Team boss Fred Vasseur is a big reason why Ferrari are looking like genuine contenders for the first time in years – but he won’t have any of that if you put it to him. The Frenchman considers their strong form a result of a team effort. For him, he’s just responsible for creating the conditions for his staff to succeed.
