ICYMI: How social media reacted to Leclerc’s triumph in front of the Tifosi at Monza
Charles Leclerc had a day to remember at Monza on Sunday, with the Monegasque clinching the seventh victory of his Formula 1 career in emotional style as the Tifosi watched on. As well as being a cause for celebration amongst the Ferrari team, others in the F1 world took to social media to offer their congratulations to the Monegasque – while a certain canine member of the Leclerc family also got in on the action…
F1 drivers past and present congratulate Leclerc
In a post that has so far garnered more than four million likes, Leclerc summed up his Italian Grand Prix by sharing a selfie from the podium as Ferrari fans packed out the main straight below. As well as being popular with his followers, the picture also sparked a response from some of Leclerc’s fellow F1 drivers.
“Congrats, mate!” George Russell commented, while Lewis Hamilton – Leclerc’s future Ferrari team mate in 2025 – responded with several clapping hands emojis. New kid on the block Franco Colapinto – who made his F1 debut for Williams in the race – also added: “Vamos!”
Some names of Formula 1 past sent messages of congratulations, too, with Marcus Ericsson writing “well done” alongside several crown emojis while Bruno Senna simply added: “Bravoo!!!”
Sainz celebrates with his team mate
It might have been his 30th birthday, but Carlos Sainz was happy to celebrate his team mate instead on Sunday. “Really happy for the entire team, Charles and the tifosi!” the Spaniard wrote in a post on Instagram.
Ferrari also captured a nice moment as Sainz headed to congratulate Leclerc after the race in what was their final Monza weekend as team mates before Sainz moves to Williams in 2025.
A special day for the Tifosi
Perhaps no one was happier about Leclerc’s win than the Tifosi, with many taking to social media to hail the driver from Monaco as the “king of Monza”.
Their reaction was summed up perfectly in a video shared by Ferrari – listen to those cheers as Leclerc celebrates with the fans post-race.

The Leclercs – including Leo – reflect on Charles’s win
It was a family affair for Leclerc at the Italian Grand Prix as his nearest and dearest were on hand to enjoy the victory with him. This included his racing driver brother Arthur, who captioned a photo of him hugging his sibling: “What a day”.
Also getting in on the action was Leo Leclerc, Charles’s increasingly famous pet dog. A video on social media captured the day from the pup’s perspective, prompting the race winner himself to comment: “I love this”.
Italy celebrates
As well as sparking reaction on social media, Leclerc’s win captured the attention of the press in Italy, with the Monegasque’s face gracing the front of several newspapers on Monday morning.
