IN PHOTOS: Hamilton soaks up his first day as a Ferrari driver at Maranello
More photographs have been shared of Lewis Hamilton’s first official day as a Ferrari driver, with the seven-time world champion soaking up his new surroundings at Maranello.
Following a New Year’s message on LinkedIn, Hamilton posted another update on social media on Monday that included a photo of him at Ferrari’s headquarters in an all-black suit and standing next to an F40 sports car.
In a message accompanying the image, Hamilton said he “couldn’t be happier” to achieve his dream of representing the marque and declared that “today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team”.
Hamilton’s day included being met by company management, a visit to the Fiorano test track and the house previously occupied by late team founder Enzo Ferrari, and a tour around various departments – all as part of an “immersion programme” that will continue through the week.
