Alex Albon may have ended up a promising P6 in final practice for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. But it wasn’t the end to the session the Thai driver would have wanted, after he clouted the Turn 5 wall.

Having shown promising pace in the third practice session at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, Albon appeared to go too hot into Turn 5, striking first the rear-front and then the rear-left corner on the barriers with five minutes of the session still to go.

What initially looked like just a rear-left puncture became more serious when Albon’s Pirelli tyre slid off the rim and rolled down the track, forcing the Williams driver to pull up – and the red flags to fly.
