MUST-SEE: Piastri slams into the wall during Q3 in Azerbaijan
Championship leader Oscar Piastri crashed out of a frenetic Qualifying session in Azerbaijan.
Oscar Piastri became the sixth driver to crash out of Qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as he hit the wall in Q3, leaving him to face an uphill battle from his worst grid position of the season.
A host of drivers, including Baku Qualifying master Charles Leclerc, found the barrier throughout the session as they struggled to overcome the slippery and windy conditions that made the track even more tough to drive.
When the Ferrari driver brought out the red flag earlier on, only three competitors had set a time, forcing Piastri to maximise his performance in the limited minutes remaining. However, he pushed too hard and completely missed the apex at Turn 3, instead colliding with the barrier and damaging the front right side of his McLaren.
