New Force India seen in the flesh for first time
Force India released pictures of their 2014 car last week, but the VJM07 was officially unveiled to the press in the Jerez pit lane on Tuesday morning at the start of this week’s four-day pre-season test.
The Mercedes-powered machine, which was shaken down during a promotional run at Silverstone in the UK last week, features one of the most unusual looking 2014 nose designs yet, with a long proboscis-like section at the end.
“Almost every single part is a new design, from the front wing right back to the diffuser,” said technical director Andrew Green. “The genetics of the VJM07 still lie in the 2013 car, but we've had to achieve the same results in a slightly different way.”
It was Nico Hulkenberg who sampled the new Force India last week, but both he and team mate Sergio Perez are set to test in Spain as the team go into the new season with an all-new driver line-up.
