OFFICIAL GRID: Who starts where at Spa as five drivers take penalties

The full official starting order for Sunday's 2026 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

SPA, BELGIUM - JULY 19: Lance Stroll of Canada and Aston Martin F1 Team and Fernando Alonso of

We have the now familiar sight of Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli on pole position for the start of the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix after no one could get within three-tenths of a second of the Italian teenager in Qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps.

Max Verstappen came closest for Red Bull, just ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris, whose 10-place grid penalty for taking on a new power-unit element means the reigning World Champion starts 13th, leaving Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to fill the second row.

Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri make up row three for Ferrari and McLaren respectively, while superb Qualifying performances from Racing Bulls’ Arvid Lindblad and Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto put them seventh and eighth on the grid. Rounding out the top ten are the second Racing Bulls of Liam Lawson and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar are required to start from the back of the grid after taking on multiple new power unit elements. They will line-up behind the sister Aston Martin of Lance Stroll and the Williams of Carlos Sainz, both of who have the same 10-place penalty as Norris.
