PADDOCK INSIDER: Why Verstappen isn’t writing off his chances of a home victory at Zandvoort
It might take some luck for Max Verstappen to win at the Zandvoort track that he says still gives him “goosebumps” – but the reigning World Champion isn’t ruling out the possibility.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen has made his home track of Zandvoort his fortress since the Dutch venue returned to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021, winning three times and finishing second once. But can he continue that run this weekend?
The reigning World Champion has won two Grands Prix this year but those were outstanding drives that very much went against the form book, with McLaren stretching their legs this year and emerging as the class leaders.
Verstappen sits 97 points (which is nearly four Grand Prix wins’ worth of points) behind championship leader Oscar Piastri with 10 races to go, and he knows adding to his victory tally in Zandvoort and the chances of making it five titles on the bounce will be a challenge.
