RACE START: Watch the getaway in Austin as Leclerc surges forward to snatch the lead from Norris
It was a fraught start to the United States Grand Prix around the Circuit of The Americas as Charles Leclerc stormed forward by a mighty three positions to usurp pole-sitter Lando Norris and take the lead of the race.
While it looked like Norris had a strong start, he was immediately challenged by Max Verstappen going into Turn 1. As both championship competitors went wide, it gave the Ferrari driver the perfect opportunity to squeeze through into P1.

With the two Mercedes starting out of position towards the back of the pack, Lewis Hamilton improved by a handful of places to start his damage limitation drive in an incredibly positive manner but that soon came to an abrupt end as he span out of the race and was beached in the gravel on Lap 2.
