He has a wealth of experience in F1, including working for Renault during their title-winning seasons in 2005 and 2006 as trackside engineer.
He spent four years at Marussia in engineering roles before overseeing Raikkonen’s return to Ferrari. During that stint, the team finished second three times in the Teams’ Championship.

Other roles included working as Technical Director of United Autosport, where he secured class wins at the Le Mans 24 Hours and World Endurance Championship’ teams’ title.
Since joining mid-way through last year, Oakes has been working with executive advisor Flavio Briatore to restructure the leadership team.
