SAY WHAT?! Sainz pleads with the stewards as Hamilton turns the airwaves blue in the best team radio from Zandvoort

Zandvoort was a riotous festival of colour as the orange-clad fans crammed into the grandstands to watch their hero deliver a home victory. But while it was relatively plain sailing for Max Verstappen, the same can’t be said for his rivals. Lewis Hamilton managed an expletive-laden rant when he realised his strategy wasn’t going to pay dividends during the race, while his team mate George Russell was insistent on pitting again. Carlos Sainz had one of those afternoons, with a botched pit stop, a yellow flag moment and an unsafe release all combining to drop him down the order, for which he was not impressed.
