There was drama early on as Charles Leclerc slammed into the barriers during Friday practice, with Zhou Guanyu and Sergio Perez narrowly avoiding contact in a high-speed scare of their own.

Then came a shower-affected qualifying and costly Q1 exits for George Russell’s Mercedes and Sergio Perez’s Red Bull – the former unable to lap to the chequered flag on a drying track amid a lack of fuel.
The Grand Prix also brought its fair share of heated and tense radio exchanges, from Max Verstappen’s frustration over the handling of his Red Bull and the squad’s strategy, to the late-race drama involving McLaren team mates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
