STRATEGY GUIDE: What are the tactical options for the Bahrain Grand Prix?

Back in the heady days of 24 hours ago at the Bahrain International Circuit, McLaren were romping away from the field, like a pair of joyful, orange space hoppers – but strange things happen after dark in Sakhir. Oscar Piastri fulfilled his potential with a second pole position of the season, but Lando Norris was becalmed in sixth with both Mercedes, a Ferrari and – surprisingly – an Alpine between him and his team mate.
But, unlike last weekend, the Bahrain Grand Prix is going to be decided on Sunday. With three DRS zones and an expectation of high tyre degradation, race pace rather than starting position will be the key factor here.
