Red Bull’s dramatic competitive turnaround in Miami – with Max Verstappen qualifying on the front row ahead of McLaren, Ferrari and George Russell’s Mercedes – coincided with another major upgrade of the RB22. Although this was just one race later than the car’s last aerodynamic upgrade, it came one month later.
Front wing, brake ducts, floor, sidepods, engine cover, diffuser and rear wing were all changed in what was a very major project, to which was added some cockpit changes and a steering rack modification to give Max Verstappen a better feeling of control in the car.
