Alpine secured an impressive and unexpected double podium finish in Brazil with Esteban Ocon second and Pierre Gasly third – a result which saw the team jump three positions in the constructors’ championship up to sixth. Qualifying showed some mixed results for the team. In the dry conditions of Sprint Qualifying Gasly finished P7 and Ocon P17. Roles were then reversed in the wet conditions of Grand Prix qualifying on Sunday morning with Ocon in P4 and Gasly in P15.
