Ticktum to drive for Red Bull in Bahrain test

Red Bull will field junior driver Dan Ticktum alongside Max Verstappen in next week’s post-race Bahrain test. It will be the Briton’s first taste of 2019 Formula 1 machinery.
Ticktum, who this season is racing in Japan’s Super Formula championship with Honda for Mugen Motorsport, will get behind the wheel of the RB15 on Wednesday, with Verstappen driving on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old’s testing opportunity comes after a successful 2018 season in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, where he finished second, plus consecutive Macau Grand Prix victories.
Ticktum’s previous F1 experience has been limited to older cars, through Red Bull demonstration runs plus his prize for winning the 2017 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.
