TREMAYNE: The day an emotional Schumacher equalled Senna’s win tally – and we saw behind the mask
F1 Hall of Fame journalist David Tremayne remembers an emotional day at Monza for Michael Schumacher and Ferrari, 25 years ago this month.

Ferrari and Michael Schumacher delivered a brilliant performance on the Scuderia’s home ground to win the 2000 Italian Grand Prix.
Of course, Ferrari always seek to pull something out of the hat for Monza, to keep the tifosi happy, and this time 125,000 of them seemed to be on the track, screaming deliriously, as their hero sought to thread his red car through their writing mass.
Thankfully, there was to be no Mansellesque interface with an errant celebrator, and Michael made it back to the pits without incident.
