The Austrian Grand Prix has thrown up its own fair share of dramatic moments, so ahead of this weekend’s action in the Styrian hills, we are looking back at some of the most memorable battles from our time racing in Spielberg.
We have seen some intense battles for the lead from some of the best drivers, such as Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc going toe-to-toe in the closing stages of the race back in 2019, as well as Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher battling it out in 1998.

We have also seen some intense multi-car battles, especially at last year’s race when Zhou Guanyu, Fernando Alonso, Kevin Magnussen, Lando Norris and Mick Schumacher fought it out for the final few places in the top-10.
Alonso features on this list twice, as his battle with George Russell for 10th back in 2021 was also full of drama. Lastly, we get to sit back and enjoy a masterclass in re-overtaking from Sergio Perez, after he fought back against Carlos Sainz.
