WATCH: Five great Japanese Grand Prix battles from the F1 archive

Formula 1 has landed at one of the most historic tracks around – Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix. This circuit has witnessed no shortage of on-track drama and, with this year’s race fast approaching, we’ve delved into the archives to look back on five great battles in Japan.
From the likes of Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher going toe to toe in qualifying in 2000 – two amazing champions at their very best – to the great Nigel Mansell trying to pass Ferrari’s Jean Alesi in 1994, we have seen it all.
Last year we were also treated to a great tussle between two world champions as Fernando Alonso battled Sebastian Vettel all the way to the line – another duel that makes this list.
