Since joining the sport in 2005, Red Bull have embarked on quite the journey. After clinching their sixth constructors’ title last weekend in Japan, we thought we would look back at some of their most memorable moments.
When they took over from Jaguar 18 years ago, the team had ambitious targets that not many believed in. Despite those sceptics they instantly hit the ground running, with a double points finish at their first race in Melbourne, and a first podium a year later in Monaco.
They then waited four years before getting their first pole position and win – scored by Sebastian Vettel – ushering in their period of dominance, as they sealed their first four constructors’ and drivers’ title – all won by Vettel – from 2010 to 2013.
And then came a long period without championship success, with rivals Mercedes winning eight titles in a row. However, along the way, Red Bull continued to make memories, with epic wins for both Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.
But even through all those down times they continued to work hard, before returning to title-winning ways in dramatic fashion in 2021. And since then, they have once again continued to rewrite what is possible in F1 as they continue making history.
