F1 REWIND: Watch Alonso’s superb 2012 European Grand Prix win in full
The 2012 season was that crazy year when the first seven races of the year were won by seven different drivers. The first man to take a second victory that year was Fernando Alonso – and he did it in style around the streets of Valencia.
Alonso, then driving for Ferrari, qualified down in 11th, but on race day he put in a typically battling performance to haul himself up the field, and eventually to the win, in front of his adoring home crowd.
It was vintage Alonso, a race where he harried and hustled his way to victory – and you can watch the whole thing in the video above, in our latest classic race stream. Enjoy!
