If there’s one thing the 2023 season delivered in bundles, it was drama across the board. Here we count down the top 10 most dramatic moments from the year including crashes, weather and epic battles on the track.
Among our list is the chaos at the start of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, as Charles Leclerc slid out on the formation lap – his race over before it even began – while Alex Albon collided with the Haas pair of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg once the race got going.

There was a thriller in Zandvoort as the heavens opened and, in the heat of Qatar, there were plenty of gasps as the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell touched at the very first corner.
