Lewis Hamilton topped the first Sprint Qualifying session of 2025, taking advantage of McLaren mistakes to position his Ferrari at the front of the grid.
As was the case in Australia, fine margins separated the field, with Hamilton's lap record 1m 30.849s effort just 0.018s clear of Red Bull's Max Verstappen in second. Oscar Piastri was only 0.080s further back, leading the charge for McLaren after Lando Norris made an error on his final lap.
Charles Leclerc could only manage fourth, falling 0.208s short of his team mate, followed by George Russell, Norris, and Kimi Antonelli.
