WATCH: Ride onboard as Norris beats Antonelli to pole for the Sao Paulo Sprint
As the title fight continues to heat up, Lando Norris secured what could be a critical pole position for the Sao Paulo Sprint.
Lando Norris came out on top in Sprint Qualifying in Sao Paulo, pipping Kimi Antonelli and, crucially, Oscar Piastri to pole position amid their back and forth battle for the championship lead.
The Briton, who holds a slim advantage of one point over his team mate in the standings, clocked a 1m 09.243s with his final effort in SQ3, clearing the Mercedes youngster by 0.097s while Piastri ended the tense session 0.185s adrift.
With the third title contender Max Verstappen resigned to start from sixth, Norris is in a strong position to realise his goal of extending his points lead in the 24-lap Sprint.
