It was a dramatic first day of track action for the Mexico City Grand Prix, with both first and second practices witnessing heavy crashes and red flags, but Ferrari's Carlos Sainz was the man to post the fastest lap overall.
Clocking a 1m 17.699s lap during FP2, which was an elongated 90-minute session dedicated to Pirelli tyre testing, the Spaniard was a tenth faster than second-placed Oscar Piastri in the McLaren.
The action resumes at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Saturday at 1130 local time for the third and final practice session. Until then, click play on the video above to ride onboard for Sainz's fastest Friday lap.
