Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari set the pace during the first day of practice for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton ended the opening day of practice at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with the fastest time, having led a Ferrari 1-2 over team mate Charles Leclerc in FP2.
Across a more representative second session, following the heavily interrupted FP1, Hamilton worked his way down to a best effort of 1m 41.293s with Pirelli’s soft compound tyre.
It put the seven-time World Champion 0.074s up on Leclerc, with the Mercedes machines of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli around half a second back.
