WATCH: Ride onboard with Norris as he snatches an impressive pole position for the Qatar Sprint
Lando Norris came out on top in a tight battle with Mercedes's George Russell for pole position in Sprint Qualifying around the Lusail International Circuit, edging out the Briton as well as his McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri.
The papaya team, Ferrari and Mercedes all looked to be in the fight for the top spot, but it was Norris who set the fastest lap of 1m 21.012s, just 0.063s clear of Russell's final effort around the high-speed Qatar track.
