WATCH: Ride onboard with Sergio Perez on his way to a storming pole position in Miami
Sergio Perez grabbed his second pole position of the season at the Miami Grand Prix, putting together a rapid first lap in Q3 to take P1 ahead of Fernando Alonso, and taking advantage of his team mate Max Verstappen failing to set a time.
On his one and only lap in Q3, Perez set a time of 1m 26.841s to lead Alonso, in second, by 0.361s, with Carlos Sainz rounding out the top three, finishing over half a second off the Red Bull driver’s pace.

The drivers had been gearing up for a second and final lap in Q3, before Charles Leclerc’s crash into the barrier brought out the red flags, meaning Verstappen could not get in a lap, after he aborted his first attempt, leaving the Dutch racer down in ninth, with the Ferrari driver in seventh.
