WATCH: Verstappen stops out on track in FP1 with suspected gearbox issues
An expectant Dutch crowd were able to watch just 10 minutes of on-track action from their local hero Max Verstappen in Free Practice 1 for the Dutch Grand Prix, before the Red Bull driver was forced to stop at Turn 4.
Verstappen had clocked the fastest time early doors in the session, and was heading into his seventh lap of the afternoon when he suffered what he felt was a gearbox issue – jumping out of his car and strolling disconsolately back to the pits.

Ahead of the session, Red Bull had been forced to break the seal on Verstappen’s gearbox to change the main shaft locking insert – with the mechanics now needing to get the reigning champion’s RB18 in ship shape for the all-important FP2 session on Friday afternoon.
