The result at Paul Ricard came down to the last couple of laps, but the drama on the airwaves started far earlier than that. From angry outbursts to bemused confusion, the radio calls at the French Grand Prix were full of emotion up and down the field.
Lando Norris used a less than complementary term for one of his midfield rivals, while his team mate suffered a serious case of mistaken identity. Haas had problems with bumps, while Pierre Gasly was happy to wax lyrical about his qualifying lap.

Unusually it was Charles Leclerc who turned the airwaves blue and he was joined by Valtteri Bottas, who had some sharp words for his team on strategy.
Those were the messages that were loud and clear but down at Red Bull it was a different matter entirely, with eventual race winner Max Verstappen sounding like he was communicating from outer space. It didn’t slow him down much though, as he went on to win for the third time this season.
