WATCH: When Hamilton and Moss took two classic Mercedes race cars for a spin
After the sad news that Sir Stirling Moss passed away in the early hours of Easter Sunday, Lewis Hamilton paid tribute to a man he called a "racing legend".
The World Champion wrote on Twitter: "I certainly will miss our conversations. I am truly grateful to have had these special moments with him. Sending my prayers and thoughts to his family. May he rest in peace."
Hamilton of course drives for the Mercedes works team, as Moss did in the 1955 Formula 1 season when he became the first British driver to win his home Grand Prix by taking victory at Aintree, ahead of his Silver Arrows team mate Juan Manuel Fangio.
Back in 2015 Hamilton and Moss met up at the iconic Monza circuit, where they took out some classic Mercedes racing machinery for a spin on the track's famous banking.
For Moss it was a reunion with a car he raced in anger back when he was in his prime, while for Hamilton it was a chance to get a feel for what top level racing was like long before he was even born.
You can watch the meeting of the two hugely successful British racers in the video above.
