'Exposed carbon' has become something of a trend for 2023 with the likes of Alfa Romeo and Mercedes opting not to paint swathes of their cars. But why have they decided to do that?
That approach is certainly popular: F1.com readers voted Mercedes' W14 as their favourite livery of 2023 while Alfa Romeo also scored highly in our poll.
But it turns out that it's not just aesthetics that the naked carbon look helps – there's a performance boost too.
