Formula 1 moves on to Monza this weekend for the Italian Grand Prix – but what kind of weather conditions are in store for the drivers and teams?
As things stand, it looks set to be a warm and sunny few days across the event, with air temperatures reaching as high as 34 degrees Celsius.
While there were bouts of rain last time out in Zandvoort, dry conditions are currently predicted for the weekend at Monza with only a small chance of showers later on Sunday.

2026 Italian Grand Prix weekend weather forecast
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 – FP1 AND FP2
Conditions: Friday’s weather is expected to be hot and dry, with clear skies throughout the day. The temperature will range from a mild 21C in the morning to a peak of 34C in the afternoon. Wind speeds will stay light, averaging around 6 kph. With no rain expected and track temperatures reaching 56C, conditions will be ideal for racing, though tyre management may prove a slight challenge given the hot track surface.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 – FP3 AND QUALIFYING
Conditions: The weather on Saturday is expected to be hot and dry again, much like the previous number of days. Temperatures will range from 22C to 34C, with a heat index of 34C and track temperatures reaching up to 57C. Wind speeds will remain light, averaging around 6-7 kph, with maximum gusts up to 20 kph. There is no chance of rain, making for ideal racing conditions aside from the uncomfortably warm temperatures.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 – RACE
Conditions: Expect sunny and hot conditions for race day. The temperature will range from 24C in the morning to a high of 34C during the day, with a resulting heat index of 33-34C given afternoon relative humidities around 40%. Winds will be light, averaging around 7 kph again, with gusts up to 20 kph. High pressure will remain well established, keeping stable conditions in place while favouring no chance of rain during the day, with a low 10% chance of rain after sunset. Track temperatures could peak around 57C again especially if skies remain clear during the afternoon, which will influence tyre performance.
