Welcome back to the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours. It had been expected that the rain would miss the circuit today, but the region's reputation for unpredictable weather has once more been justified this morning.
There was light rain early on, followed by a coupled of downpours during private testing. First practice began on a track wet enough to create roostertails of spray behind the cars.
The good news is that the showers will clear up after lunch, when the sun should reappear. Tomorrow there is still a 10 percent chance of rain, as there is on Sunday, but on both days high ambient temperatures are expected.
