Former champion Jacques Villeneuve has spent his first official day of work with the Sauber team for whom he will race next season.

Villeneuve, who competed in the last three Grands Prix of 2004 for Renault, was at Sauber’s factory in Hinwil, Switzerland on Thursday to have his seat made for the C23.

"The first day of work in a new team is always something very special,” said the Canadian. “I'm looking forward to my first test and my first impressions of the C23 with eager anticipation.

“During the course of the season Sauber Petronas’s performance curve was clearly pointing upwards, and of course I'm hoping that we'll be able to continue this trend next year."

Villeneuve, who has signed a two-year contract with the Swiss team, will be testing for Sauber for the first time in Barcelona on November 26.
