Ralf safely home after accident 23 Jun 2004
No decision yet on whether to race in France
Williams' Ralf Schumacher has returned to his home in Austria following his dramatic crash in last Sundays US Grand Prix.
Schumacher, who collided heavily with the wall at over 300kph on the banked Turn 13 following a puncture, was released from hospital in Indianapolis on Monday before making the return journey to Salzburg.
The German driver, who is still suffering from a heavily bruised back, admitted he has no recollection of the incident. There's nothing there. It's as if the scenes of the accident have been erased," he was reported as saying by German newspaper Bild.
Schumacher intends to spend the next week resting, skipping the test session he was due to participate in at Barcelona. He will then consider his position as regards the French Grand Prix on July 4, with the Williams team insisting that the decision on whether to race is entirely his.
