Welcome to the Monaco Grand Prix, the seventh round of the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship.

The Principality is scheduled to be sunny and warm on Wednesday, with an ambient temperature high of 23 degrees Celsius. Despite some heavy cloud on Tuesday, that will set the theme for a bright weekend. Thursday - first practice day in Monaco - will be around 22 degrees, Friday will be 23, Saturday 24 and Sunday 23 again, with a little cloud. There is little chance of rain.

The track will still be very ‘green’ and slippery on Thursday until it begins to rubber up as the Formula One cars, the GP2 machines and other supporting categories help it to develop grip.

The race will run over 78 laps of the 3.340 kilometre (2.075 mile) track, making a total distance of 260.520 kilometres (161.887 miles) and starts at 1400 hours local time, 1200 GMT.
