Red Bull announced on Wednesday that their 2007 challenger, the RB3, will be unveiled at a special event at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya on January 26. The new car is the first designed for Red Bull by engineering guru Adrian Newey, who joined the team from McLaren at the start of last season.

Shunning the traditional press release, Red Bull adopted a characteristically novel approach to confirming details of the launch. After being asked to ring a telephone number to speak to Newey, members of the media were greeted by an answer-phone message recorded by the man himself, relaying information about the event.

Red Bull have high hopes for the RB3, which will be powered by customer engines supplied by world champions Renault. The team also have a new driver line-up to go with the new car, with Australian Mark Webber moving from Williams to partner David Coulthard.
