Timo Glock will make his Toyota debut at next week’s Jerez test after current employers BMW Sauber agreed to him taking part in the session. Glock, who is a contracted BMW tester until the end of the year, will race for Toyota in 2008.

Glock’s Toyota race deal was announced earlier this month, and the team have since been working to gain permission for their new signing to work alongside Jarno Trulli and test driver Kamui Kobayashi in Spain.

“I am very excited to be driving a Toyota for the first time at Jerez,” Glock told Formula1.com, ahead of his first taste of the TF107. “I am looking forward to getting to know the team and the car.

“As soon as it was confirmed that I could test for Toyota at Jerez we had to think about all the practical things like seat fittings, uniforms, that kind of thing. It has just happened and we are still fixing things together for the test.”

The Jerez session will mark the start of a rapid learning process for reigning GP2 champion Glock, who has had only limited contact with his new team to date.

“As soon as possible I want to spend a lot of time at the factory, to meet the engineers and mechanics - and the whole team,” he said. “I haven’t met Jarno yet, but I will do soon. He has a lot of experience, he is really quick and I think we will work well together to bring the team forward.”

As well his time testing with BMW Sauber, Glock’s Formula One experience includes four Grand Prix outings with Jordan in 2004.
