Alonso to attend Ferrari World Finals
Although still contracted to his 2009 team Renault, Fernando Alonso has been granted permission to attend this weekends Ferrari World Finals. Alonso, who will drive for the Maranello squad next season, will attend their annual end-of-season celebration, which this year takes place for the first time at Valencias Ricardo Tormo circuit in Spain.
"We are pleased that Fernando will be able to attend what, for us, is a very important event," said Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali. "It will be a great opportunity for all our fans who will be able to give him a warm welcome and for Fernando, who, for the first time, will be able to see and experience an insider's view of the world of Ferrari.
I wish to thank the Renault F1 Team for making it possible for Fernando to be in Valencia; a generous gesture which is much appreciated."
The World Finals traditionally bring Ferraris racing season to a close and feature demonstrations of Formula One machinery past and present, appearances by the Italian company's current F1 team, and numerous rounds of Ferrari's various one-make sportscar series.
