Jerome D’Ambrosio and Mikhail Aleshin will each spend a day behind the wheel of Renault’s R30 at next week’s young driver test at the Yas Marina Circuit. The test will take place over two days from Tuesday after this weekend’s season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is held at the track.

Twenty three year-old Aleshin will drive for the French team on the opening day to celebrate winning this year's World Series by Renault. The Russian driver took three wins and a further five podiums on his way to the title. Last season he competed in Formula Two, finishing second in the standings, and since graduating from karting in 2002 has also raced in GP2, A1GP and Formula Renault.

Belgian driver D’Ambrosio will be in the car on Wednesday, as a reward for being this season’s most successful member of the Renault F1 Driver Programme. The 24 year-old took one win in GP2 this year for DAMS and has also run for the Virgin Formula One team during four Friday practice sessions over the course of the year.

He has spent the last four seasons competing in the GP2 Series, which he joined after spells racing in GP2 Asia, International Formula Masters, the F3000 Euroseries and Formula Renault. Before joining Virgin, he held the role of reserve and test driver for Renault, although he didn’t complete any laps for the French team.
