Liuzzi handed five-place grid penalty 10 Jul 2010
Force India's Vitantonio Liuzzi has dropped five places on the Silverstone grid as a penalty for impeding Williamss Nico Hulkenberg during qualifying for Sundays British Grand Prix. Liuzzi, who had qualified in 15th, will now start the race from 20th.
We thought that we had to keep Nico behind and I didn't realise he was on a hot lap, Liuzzi explained. From there it's not going to be easy but there are overtaking spots here at least, plus the incentive of racing in front of our home crowd.
As a result of the Italians penalty, Renaults Vitaly Petrov, Toro Rosso team mates Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari, Lotuss Heikki Kovalainen and Virgins Timo Glock will all move up a place on the grid.
