Kubica undergoes successful final surgery 28 Aug 2011
Renaults Robert Kubica underwent one last scheduled operation in Italy on Sunday as he continues his recovery from his February rallying crash. Surgeons described the outcome as a total success.
Kubicas final surgery was aimed at recovering the full mobility of his right elbow. Surgeons were happy to report that they were able to complete 100 percent of their task and did not encounter any complications.
A statement from Renault reported: On waking up, it was immediately clear Robert was in good spirits. Why? Well, as soon as he opened his eyes, he asked for the results of todays race!
Kubica will now rest in hospital for a few days before resuming his rehabilitation and training programme. It remains unclear as to when the Polish driver is likely to return to the cockpit.
