Sutil handed three-place grid penalty for impeding Hamilton 07 Sep 2013

Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton stuck behind the Force India of Adrian Sutil on his final flying lap. His time is only good enough for 12th place. The incident is under investigation by the stewards

Force India’s Adrian Sutil has been handed a three-place grid penalty for impeding Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton during the second part of qualifying for Sunday’s Formula 1 Gran Premio d’Italia 2013 at Monza.

The German got in Hamilton’s way at the final corner - the Parabolica - as the Briton was completing a timed lap. The penalty means that Sutil will drop from 14th to 17th on the starting grid, whilst Williams' Pastor Maldonado, Force India's Paul di Resta and Sauber's Esteban Gutierrez all move up a place. Hamilton remains 12th having been knocked out of qualifying in Q2.
