Ferrari F60 - chassis height testing 28 July 2009
In practice in Hungary, Ferrari, Brawn, BMW Sauber and Toyota all tried out revised u-shaped bodywork at the front of the chassis, following the trend set by Red Bull, in order to see just how high they can go without interfering with driver visibility. This cross section of the Ferrari's nose clearly shows the raised upper sections of on either side of the chassis around the front suspension pick-up points, with a design that looks refined enough to be close to a final shape. Other teams' versions looked less advanced, with BMW Sauber for example simply attaching square sections of bodywork to the top of the chassis.
