Last weekend in Portugal Valtteri Bottas was on fire in practice, only to see Lewis Hamilton beat him to pole position. But this week Bottas turned the tables on his Mercedes team mate and pipped him to top spot on the grid with a great lap at Imola.

It will be another Mercedes 1-2 on the grid for Sunday's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen lining up in his now traditional third - though the Dutchman was just moments from being knocked out of Q2 after his Red Bull crew had to scramble to fix an engine issue on his RB16 with the clock ticking down.

Verstappen will be joined on the second row by AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly who was in superb form at the Italian track, with Renault's Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon in the second Red Bull behind in fifth and sixth.
